Tiffany S. Stokes

Barrister & Solicitor

Tiffany Stokes specializes in negotiations and settlements designed to help clients set and realize short- and long-term goals to restructure the family in the best way possible.

Her practice covers the full range of family law including divorce and common law separation, decision-making, guardianship, parenting, mobility, child support, partner and spousal support, family property division, extra-jurisdictional custody orders, and adoption. Tiffany has an active litigation practice, including contested adoptions.

Tiffany has appeared before administrative tribunals, Provincial Court, Court of King’s Bench, and the Court of Appeal of Alberta.

Tiffany was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, and graduated summa cum laude from Meredith College in North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in women’s studies and Spanish. She graduated with a Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2012. Throughout law school Tiffany was a regular student volunteer with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre and served on the Editorial Board of the Alberta Law Review. Tiffany articled with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre and Gordon Zwaenepoel (now Bruyer & Mackay) prior to her call to the bar in 2013. Tiffany joined the partnership of Bruyer & Mackay in 2018.

Tiffany is a sessional instructor in family law at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Edmonton Bar Association and the Edmonton Community Legal Centre (ECLC). She is a regular volunteer with ECLC where she provides pro bono services in family law for individuals in Edmonton and Grande Prairie living with a low income. In addition, Tiffany serves on the Executive Committee of the Edmonton branch of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF).

Tiffany is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and Canadian Bar Association.
