Amanda M. Venner

Barrister & Solicitor

Amanda Venner is committed to finding solutions that suit her clients’ needs, whether by alternative dispute resolution or, where necessary, bringing the matter to court. Her focus is on reducing her clients’ stress during periods of life change and finding options that work for their long-term goals.

Amanda graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2019. During law school, she volunteered with the Elizabeth Fry Society as an assistant to Duty Counsel, Student Legal Services, Edmonton Community Legal Centre, and completed an internship with the Alberta Human Rights Commission. Amanda took as many courses as possible in family law, mediation, and negotiation. Before law school, she graduated from MacEwan University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours English. Throughout her undergraduate career, Amanda presented at numerous academic conferences and defended a thesis. She completed her legal articles with the Alberta Law Reform Institute; Surface Rights Board, Land Compensation Board, and Municipal Government Board; Andrew Sims, KC; and Bruyer & Mackay, where she discovered her passion for family law.

Amanda is a regular volunteer with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, where she provides pro bono services in family law for individuals in the Edmonton area living with low income. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association’s Family Law North section.
