Rebecca (Becky) Thera
Barrister & Solicitor
Rebecca is passionate about social justice and making the law accessible to her clients. Rebecca approaches family law matters with compassion and is committed to finding solutions to suit her clients’ needs. Rebecca has appeared in both the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King’s Bench on a variety of family law issues.
Rebecca was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. Prior to commencing her law degree, Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Regina, and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta.
Rebecca completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta in 2024. During law school, Rebecca received the Jean McBean QC Award in Law and enjoyed opportunities to practice advocacy. Rebecca competed in a provincial family law moot and a national immigration and citizenship law moot.
Rebecca began working at Bruyer & Mackay LLP in 2024 as an articling student and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2025. Rebecca is a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys art, music, swimming, and playing darts.
